Why is water chemistry so important?

Water borne illnesses and chemicals

Water borne illnesses and chemicals

Swimming in improperly balanced water can expose you to serious health hazards.

Bacteria like cryptosporidiosis, e-coli, legionella,  and giardia are commonly found in pools that are not balanced.

If the water doesn't move, insects like flies and mosquitoes will move in which can carry diseases like malaria, Zika virus, and West Nile.

If the pH in your pool is not balanced it can cause rashes, eye, nose and throat irritation, ear infections, and asthma problems.

We can help to prevent most of these issues by keeping the water moving and testing the water quality on a regular basis and keeping the chemicals at a proper level.

Improperly balanced water is not only bad for you, but bad for your pool too.

Water that is not properly balanced can cause etching and pitting in your pools surface.  This is when your pool's surface becomes rough to the touch.  Pieces of plaster will fall off causing the rough material under the smooth surface to be exposed.

With our valet service we balance the chemicals for you.  We test the chemicals regularly and make any needed adjustments.

Damage like this can cost 1000's  to repair.  In bad cases or where pitting has spread to the entire pool it may need to be re-plastered.  Once it is repaired it will be vital that the water stays balanced.
